Sad statistics on Ukrainian government-run orphanages: there are over 30,000 orphans in Ukraine. Each year 5,000 children leave the orphanage by running away. Of these: 1,000 are unemployed and homeless, 1,500 resort to crime to survive, 500 commit suicide, more than 50% of the girls are forced into prostitution. Read more…

Imagine if you were abandoned and forced out to live on the streets because your parents couldn’t afford to keep you or not capable due to alcohol and drug abuse. At age as young as 4, you are forced to live on your own, with no food or place to sleep, while education or a chance at a future are of the least priority. Read more…
